Weather

The weather is looking a little mixed, so please prepare for some rain. The positive is that if it rains, it should be very occasional and only a slight amount. So we are hopeful that any rain will not disrupt us too much.

Getting There

Directions from Sydney:

  • Head North on the Pacific Mwy/M1
  • Take the Central Coast Hwy/A49 exit at Somersby (signs to Gosford and the Australian Reptile Park)
  • Turn right onto Woy Woy Rd
  • After 3km, turn right onto Kariong Scout Camp Trail (look out for our logo)

There is parking available which will be a short walk to the campsites and communal areas. The drive is on some dirt roads which is suitable for all 2wd’s.

The Site

Scout Camp Kariong is located near Gosford, NSW.

Just one hour from Sydney or Newcastle, and ten minutes from the M1 Freeway, sits a 100-acre bushland retreat for scouting and community groups. Created in the 1930’s, there are 9 campsites which feature camp shelters, BBQ (BYO gas), picnic bench and a sink. There is a communal area with a large campfire circle, hall, commercial kitchen and dining area, toilets and (hot) showers. Access is via a smooth gravel road perfectly suitable for any 2wd. The grounds have drinking water on site and good phone reception.
